Oak Tree Barn sits down a private lane just outside Tonbridge. Rolling Kent countryside surrounds it on every side. Izi and Josh chose the venue for its relaxed, rustic character. They wanted a ceremony space that felt closer to a woodland clearing than a wedding venue. Guests gathered under trees strung with festoon lighting, beside wooden benches lined with wildflowers. The couple married on 27 June, right at the start of a hot British summer. The barn’s mix of indoor and outdoor spaces gave the day room to breathe. Izi’s entrance set the tone for the whole day. She walked through Oak Tree Barn’s wooden arch doors on her father’s arm. Naturally, her dress came from Velvet Birdcage Bespoke Bridal, all soft, romantic detail. Josh waited under the pavilion in a suit from Moss Bros. The celebrant led the ceremony from a lectern at the side. Bunting and string lights were strung overhead, and a large floral urn from Little Flower Florist stood at the front. By every account, it was an intimate, unhurried ceremony. In turn, it gave the couple time to actually notice the moment they were in. Then, right on cue, came the part every guest still talks about: the confetti.
The Confetti Exit
Silk Street Jazz performed the exit music as Izi and Josh stepped back out through the pavilion. It was a bouncy, Louis Prima-style version of Pennies From Heaven. That choice turned the walk into a proper celebration. Guests lined both sides, and confetti went up in great handfuls. Then the couple laughed their way through it, arm in arm. Isabella described it best herself, afterwards:
“We had so many compliments from friends and family on your music and it really made our exit and post-ceremony time feel perfect. We couldn’t be happier. The music was wonderful and the look and feel of the wandering trio was just what we’d imagined.”

For Izi and Josh’s wedding, Silk Street Jazz performed as a wandering trio: clarinet, banjo and sousaphone. The trio dressed in red waistcoats and straw hats, a look that suited the barn’s relaxed, festival-tinged setting perfectly. Rather than staying fixed to one spot, the trio moved with the day. They performed at the ceremony pavilion, by the gate, and out on the green during drinks. Over roughly ninety minutes of post-ceremony drinks, the set moved through bouncy New Orleans standards and jazz favourites. Along the way, guests heard Cheek to Cheek, Puttin’ on the Ritz, What a Wonderful World and Struttin’ With Some BBQ. And, of course, that memorable rendition of Pennies From Heaven. A Private Encore, Just for Two
The moment that meant the most happened away from the crowd, however. Once the confetti had settled, and most guests had drifted towards drinks, something special happened. The trio performed Pennies From Heaven again, this time with vocals, just for Izi and Josh. Isabella called it one of her personal highlights of the whole day. It is easy to see why. A private reprise of your own exit song, sung quietly for two rather than performed for a crowd, is a special kind of detail. Like most British weddings, the day brought a bit of everything, weather-wise. There was bright heat during the ceremony, followed by a passing shower later on. The trio performed through both without missing a beat, red waistcoats and all. Meanwhile, guests kept their spirits up with the help of a hand fan or two. There was also a small mix-up over changing space. The on-site cottage earmarked for the band was, understandably, also being used by the bridal party that morning. After drinks on the green, guests moved into Oak Tree Barn’s reception space for the evening. It was styled with dried flower garlands, festoon lighting, and white-clothed tables dressed with jute runners and burnt-orange and sage napkins. Little Flower Florist’s arrangements carried through from the ceremony into the reception. Notably, the same dahlias, sunflowers and wildflowers appeared throughout the day. Meanwhile, Chop & Chip Co catered the wedding breakfast. As the evening went on, Skyknights took over for a full night of dancing, rounding off a memorable day.
