Excellent Music, Thank You

Thank you for your efforts last night in making it such a special evening. It was a great turn out and we had some really fantastic feedback from our customers and colleagues. From Jamie Taylor, Head of Business, myself and all of the staff at Mercedes-Benz of Harrogate we would like to say a massive thank you for your attending last night and making it an evening to remember

I wanted to share some pictures from our wedding of the wonderful band you provided. We had such a great day and the band were just perfect! Everyone loved them and they were so amazing. Please pass our very best onto them and thank them for being in such good spirits and being the perfect entertainment for our reception – they set the tone for the day brilliantly and everyone LOVED walking up the road with them!

Hi Jonathan. I just wanted to tell you how pleased we all were with the band at Dad’s funeral yesterday. Everyone thought it a wonderful tribute to him, and many commented on how much Dad would have liked it. It was a bitterly cold day, so please do thank the musicians for doing so well.I must confess that I am not really a jazz fan, but I so enjoyed listening to the gents play. I don’t think ‘enjoy’ is the right word given the solemn occasion, but I’m sure you know what I mean. The music made the ceremony more emotional and moving – in a good way – and very memorable. And although it was an occasion full of sadness, the band seemed to make it easier to bear – for me at least. So many, many thanks. Best wishes

The Silk Street Santas were absolutely wonderful and greeted with great pleasure. Great performers and I thoroughly enjoyed myself hosting them for the day. I hope they had a good time too

Please send my thank you’s to the members of the band that came to perform on Sunday for the Tennis Wheelchair Masters tournament. They were a delight to work with and really lifted the atmosphere on finals day, we had lots of great feedback from everyone about them. I will definitely keep the band in mind for any future events I am involved in as they were brilliant! If anything comes up I will definitely let you know!

For my 40th, I had a 1920s themed party in a beautiful 1920s ballroom in Letchworth Garden City. I can honestly say that the absolute HIGHLIGHT of the party was the 5 piece Silk Street Jazz band. I felt like I had stepped back in time. They were absolutely wonderful – truly superb – and contributed to one of the very best nights of my life. They were extremely professional, flexible and accommodating (even happy to accompany a last minute request from my husband to sing with them!) and really looked dapper in their gorgeous red waistcoats. We hired the 3 piece band for our wedding to make an event of the short 10 min walk between the church, and what an event it became! The band were fantastic! The walk was brilliant with the guys playing, and so many of our guests told us it was one of their favourite parts of the day. The band are very professional and they also played a great set during our drinks reception creating a great atmosphere and really setting the tone for the day. We highly recommend them

These guys were absolutely amazing. Thank you so so much. Sorry it’s taken us so long to write to you (we can’t believe that our wedding was over a month ago already!) but we just wanted to say thank you for playing at our 1920s/30s themed wedding in November. The musicians from the 1920′s Lucky Four were outstanding, providing great music for our swing-dancing guests to dance to and a fantastic atmosphere for our non-dancing guests to enjoy. Hi Jonathan. It was so lovely to meet the band at our Highclere event on 27th March. I wanted to write on behalf of both the National Osteoporosis Society and JDRF, the type 1 diabetes charity to express our sincere gratitude to Silk Street for performing on the night and for so wonderfully entertaining our guests during the drinks reception. Although we still have some accounting to do, our initial figures show that we raised £172,000 gross from the evening. We are delighted with the total raised which will go a long way in helping both charities to continue their work improving the lives of people affected by osteoporosis and type 1 diabetes

I just wanted to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to the Silk Street Hot Three for their fantastic performance at our wedding on 2 June. They started to play just as we were coming up the drive and with everyone enjoying cocktails on the lawn and the fabulous dixie jazz we felt like we were in a scene from the Great Gatsby. The band played some great numbers, and their timing (pausing for speeches etc) was impeccable, exactly as we had asked. We couldn’t have hoped for a better backdrop to our wedding day and we would certainly use the band again

This is to say thank you to you all from my sisters and I. Ever since we were little our dad had said he wanted a jazz band to play him out at his funeral and when he died suddenly we were thrown into finding a jazz band that would do him justice and against all odds we found you and what an amazing find. You did both our dad, us and yourselves proud. Everyone at the funeral thought your playing and service was exceptional, from leading the hearse and mourners through the crematorium to the service, to playing when we came out to view the flowers. Your playing at the wake afterwards made the day special and we know dad would have loved it. Since this time we have recommended you to other people and have also been contacted by the funeral home that arranged our fathers funeral, asking if we would recommend you and asking for your details. This information we have been more than happy to pass along. Any funeral is a difficult time, however, our dad died 7 months after our mum so this was especially hard but being able to give dad what he always wanted and make the day so special made it somewhat easier. Your attention to detail, compassion and fitting in with what we wanted without fuss or stress made the whole process easier to deal with at a very difficult time. Thank you to you all

Thank you for performing such a great set at our wedding…One of my most vivid memories is Edward and I arriving at our reception and before walking in we took 5 mins to stand and listen out of sight to the jazz. It was such a great feeling to hear the music and the chatter of all our guests. Everyone I have spoken to since has been incredibly complimentary about the band. You looked the part and you really did bring a smile to people’s faces and ensure that the reception kicked off in style. What a fantastic experience to have Silk Street lead my mum’s funeral procession with a 12 piece New Orleans style Jazz Band. Silk Street showed up in full uniform with the presence of a thousand musicians. The tiny streets of Linden in Gloucester were swinging with that awesome New Orleans sound. We all felt incredibly important, people were running to their gates with their mouths wide open. I wanted to celebrate my mum’s life, Silk Street captured the spirit and made it happen, beyond my wildest dreams. Thank you
