Inspiring Wedding Blogs: 5 REAL and recent weddings Silk Street urge you to SEE Immediately for an improved wedding

Inspiring Wedding Blogs:

As we’re on the final stretch of what will hopefully be the last lockdown, many of you will be wondering what the ‘new normal’ will look like. Not just for our personal lives, but also for the wedding market. Have you had your wedding rescheduled, postponed or even cancelled for the time being? It’s been as difficult a year for those planning to get married as it has been for wedding planners. So, firstly, we wanted to take this opportunity to delve back in to the past. And secondly, we wanted to show YOU some of the most successful real life weddings we’ve had a pleasure to be part of. Not many prospective wedding organisers have seen these showcases. So here are 5 inspiring wedding blogs Silk Street urge you to see immediately for an improved wedding.

Inspiring Wedding Blogs: Gabi & Tim’s British Garden Wedding, Worcester

Take Gabriella and Tim’s story for example. They were let down by their venue so as a result, decided to marry in Tim’s parent’s beautiful Worcester garden. Their British Garden wedding on June 9, 2018 included 90 guests in the day and 120 in the evening.

“We live a two-minute walk from Tim’s parent’s house and our church is a further two-minute walk down the road. One of my main priorities was that I didn’t want to have to bus people everywhere. I loved that everyone could walk from their hotels to the church and then on to the reception, led by our amazing processional jazz band to keep guests entertained along the way.”

Inspiring Wedding Blogs: Doug & Georgie’s DIY country wedding, Surrey

This is a great example of how to pull off a wedding in style. Firstly, Georgie and Doug’s wedding was set in the Surrey countryside. Secondly, it was a beautiful marquee wedding full of personal touches, DIY elements from the bride and fun-filled surprises. Thirdly, it included a vintage car and a bit of vintage jazz. What more could you want.

“Our day band was a traditional, authentic jazz band provided by Silk Street Jazz. We wanted a relaxed band that would provide the perfect amount of fun without being overbearing. Access to my father’s house is not the easiest, so guests were dropped off a short walk from the house, where they were met by Silk Street Jazz and walked up to the house. It was such a special moment to see guests walking and dancing up the road to When The Saints Come Marching In, with everyone getting involved from children to grandparents!”

Inspiring Wedding Blogs: Luxury Wedding at Inverforth House

Posh? Inverforth House is a Grade II listed house overlooking Hampstead Heath in north London. Built in 1895, the impeccable lawns and pristine white pillars makes it a first rate backdrop for any wedding photos. This is an example of a large wedding that somehow managed to retain a lot of intimacy. With 250 guests in the garden during the reception, everyone was entertained all day by a live band and gospel choir. Silk Street Jazz welcomed guests as they arrived. This resulted in smiles on their faces and a light and laid-back atmosphere.

Inspiring Wedding Blogs: Laura & Steve’s New Orleans styled wedding at Heaton House, Cheshire

One of our favourites. Both Laura and Steve were big fans of styles and music from eras gone by. For their wedding, they were seeking something much more unique than your bog standard traditional string quartet as their wedding accompaniment. They’d visited New Orleans together in the past and digested the music they’d heard trickling from bars and shouting from colourful street parades. They knew they wanted something different. Therefore the solution was simple, inject some New Orleans FUN!

“We just wanted to get in touch as early as we could to say THANK YOU so much for adding that amazing New Orleans vibe to our wedding. Getting out of the car to the sound of you guys was truly phenomenal and you delivered the exact atmosphere we wanted. It was fun, upbeat and different – we’ve had so many comments about you guys so thank you so much for everything. Absolute perfection. As you could see, I couldn’t stop dancing to it! So special”

Inspiring Wedding Blogs: Katy & Chris’s Balloon Filled Festival Wedding at the George Inn, Rye

We haven’t forgotten this one and we wanted to show you this really unique wedding. A balloon themed celebration, and we hadn’t performed at one of those before! Amongst all the balloons, Katy & Chris had canapés outside for their reception in the lovely British weather. The happy couple ended the night in style with a top Kent Wedding DJ – Choice DJ and live percussionist with bongos.

The food at The George was sublime, everyone was impressed that this was mass catered but didn’t taste or look like it! We had canapés and Prosecco served in the sunshine as our jazz trio, Silk Street Jazz played bright summery tunes

Inspiring Wedding Blogs: Gilly & Rod’s touch of Alice in Wonderland wedding, Studland, Dorset

Here’s another example for you. We were delighted to perform again over at Studland – certainly one of our favourite locations in Dorset to work.  Rod and Gilly got married in the beautiful St Nicholas’ Church at Studland and Harry Warren House. What service did we offer? We worked closely with the wedding planners ‘Bellissimo’ to help bring together some of the musical plans the bride and groom had already started to research.

“For a really special and unique element to this day we recommended Silk Street Jazz who we had worked with before. This was a surprise for the guests as we had the band waiting in a little wooden structure on the walk from the Church to Harry Warren House. The guests were led to the reception by the band playing live jazz walking through the streets of Studland – amazing touch!
