A couple of weeks ago we performed as a funeral jazz band for Kevin and family at Croydon Crematorium. Kevin’s father loved jazz and always wanted a jazz band to perform at his funeral. We were able to fulfil this request by turning a sad occasion in to a celebration of life for family and friends. We performed a short walk from the crematorium gates and led everyone in and out of the service, playing his favourite song “Didn’t He Ramble” in the middle of the service. Kevin kindly wrote to us afterwards thanking us for making the event such a celebration:
“The music was exactly what my Dad would have wanted. We did not tell anyone about the band and it created just the effect I wanted in that when people came out of the service, all said how good the band was, and not, so sorry for your loss. I cannot thank you enough also for your support while arranging the event”.
We were also pleased to receive a hand written note from Kevin’s mum also thanking us personally:
