Check Out The Review Here Now: Silk Street Jazz In Bloom For Kuoni At Manchester Flower Festival

Manchester Flower Festival

Regulars to our blog will know that from time to time we like to shine the spotlight on particular events we have performed at. So, without further ado, let’s do just that… Let us take you back to end of May and the Manchester Flower Festival…

Manchester Flower Festival 2023 – What’s it all about?

Well, it would way too easy to say the Manchester Flower Festival is all about celebrating flowers – although, of course, it certainly does that! No, this annual event has become a popular fixture in the city’s calendar every year.

Firstly, the Manchester Flower Festival is seen as the city’s way of marking the start of the summer.

As the festival’s website says, “From floral installations to outdoor dining, live music and entertainment, you’re in for a bloomin’ amazing long weekend in Manchester city centre. Free and open to all, come along and see Manchester in flowers.”

From the Floral Trail to Festival Zone Displays

Before we get onto what we were doing there, let us just say that our first impressions of the city as we arrived were more than good. In fact, we were blown away with how beautiful the city’s shopping streets looked with all the displays of highly Insta-friendly flowers and gardens.

The theme around the 10 professionally-designed displays was ‘Manchester in Flowers’. This had been commissioned by the Manchester City Centre BID. Highlights included a blossoming beehive – a nod to the famous Manchester Bee symbol. Furthermore, there was a tribute to the city’s Suffragettes – and a phone box, full of colour, celebrating Manchester’s rich LGBTQ+ history.

And as we took a stroll around the bustling city streets, it became evident just how much effort local artists, florists and businesses had put in with their displays.

Where did Silk Street Jazz fit in to all of this?

We do all kinds of bookings. From weddings and funerals and all kinds of parties in between.

A big chunk of our work is in the corporate market too. Often this is at large-scale events, such as product launches and awards evenings.

This particular gig at the Flower Festival was a little bit different.

We were hired by major travel company, Kuoni. There’s nothing surprising there. We’ve worked some of the biggest and best brands and household names over the years.

But this time the brief was a little different…

Promoting American Tourism the Silk Street Jazz Way!

As you might be able to work out from the decidedly American flavour of the above pic, the good old US of A was central to the brief.

In fact, we were hired by Kuoni to perform outside their Manchester shop for 2 days to promote their American tourism.

And we had a blast doing it!

And finally…

Last but not least, just look at those happy smiling faces above! That’s Alex – manager at Kuoni – and her team. There’s nothing like a satisfied client, after all!

If your business wants to promote itself in an interesting and unusual way – just like Kuoni did at the Manchester Flower Festival, why not get in touch for a chat?

We’ll get the ball rolling in no time at all…
