As a professional jazz band for hire, we have the privilege of performing at some fantastic venues for some wonderful clients. And last week’s Christmasaurus book launch, hosted by Penguin Books, was no different.
Authored by Tom Fletcher of McFly fame, The Christmasaraus is a children’s novel set on Christmas eve. The story follows the magical adventures of a boy named Trundle and a dinosaur – The Christmasaurus. Aimed at 7-11 year olds, the book is a follow-up to the bestselling ‘The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas’.
Published on the 6th October, the book launch was held in the Earth Hall of the ever-stunning Natural History Museum and featured a fantastic festive theme including Christmas trees, candy canes and even a giant Christmasaraus dinosaur manufactured from crumpets!
Among this weird and wonderful stage setting, Silk Street Jazz were hired to get the Sleigh bells ring-ding-aling-aling and to perform our version of the wonderful Christmasaurus theme tune.

The event was an all round success and the book is available to buy from all good book stores now. Thanks to Tom and Penguin for having us and of course to the evening’s other wonderful suppliers – Warburton’s, Penguin Books, Food by Dish and Bespoke Events.
